Bourke Street Bakery began as a cozy, rustic corner bakery cafe back in the winter of 2004. Since then, it has grown into a beloved Sydney institution. Founded by Paul Allam and David McGuinness—chefs who turned bakers—they bonded over a shared passion for good food and handmade craftsmanship. Their dream was to create a small cafe bakery where everything is made by hand, with care and dedication. Today, we still make everything from scratch using the finest ingredients, whether it’s our sourdough breads, pastries, or cakes. By combining quality produce, strong coffee, skilled artisanship, and hard work, we deliver honest, soulful, and delicious treats that have earned Bourke Street Bakery its reputation.
