Editorial Policy

critics.reviews is built and operated by CodeDrill Infotech Pvt. Ltd. This page explains how we research and verify the content we publish, how listings and reviews on our platform are checked, and how to report an error or dispute something we've published.

What we verify, and how

Before any directory, platform, or business listing is included in a guide on this blog, our editorial team checks:

  • Current operational status — the platform is live and actively accepting listings, not a dead or abandoned service still ranking on old "best of" lists.

  • Free-tier accuracy — what's actually free to claim, and what requires a paid upgrade, as of the publish date.

  • Feature claims — anything we state a platform does (photos, reviews, booking, etc.) is checked directly on the platform, not copied from another article.

  • Direct signup or submission links — wherever possible, we link straight to the actual claim/submit page rather than a homepage.

We do not accept payment from any directory or platform in exchange for inclusion, ranking position, or favorable coverage in our editorial content. Where we have a business relationship with a platform, we disclose it clearly in the relevant article.

How our own directory and reviews work

Separately from our editorial blog content, critics.reviews itself operates as a business directory and review platform. Two rules govern everything on it:

  • No self-review policy — a business cannot post, request, or incentivize a review of itself on our platform. Every review is tied to an identifiable reviewer.

  • Manual verification — business listing submissions are checked by our team before they go live, rather than being published automatically.

Corrections and updates

Directories change their pricing, features, and submission requirements over time. When we become aware that a published article contains outdated or incorrect information, we update the article and reflect the change in its "last updated" date, shown alongside the author byline. We don't silently rewrite articles to hide that a correction was made.

Reporting an error or requesting a listing correction

If you believe something we've published is inaccurate, out of date, or unfair — including a review or listing about your own business on critics.reviews — tell us and we'll look into it.

This applies whether you're a reader who spotted an error in an article, or a business owner with a concern about a listing or review. We investigate every report; we don't remove accurate reviews or listings simply because a business requests it, but we do correct genuine errors and take fraudulent or policy-violating content seriously.
