Catalina is a true family business at heart. Michael and Judy McMahon have been a staple in Sydney’s dining scene since its early days, starting out at Berowra Waters Inn. Their commitment to excellence in hospitality is something their children, James and Kate, continue to carry forward. Michael and Judy’s journey began working alongside the late Len Evans (OBE) at the iconic Bulletin Place. In 1978, they joined Gay and Tony Bilson at Berowra Waters Inn—Michael took on the role of floor manager, while Judy became the restaurant’s first female waitress.
