Crows Nest is known for its many beloved Indian restaurants, and among them, Dhakshin stands out along the Pacific Highway strip. Chef Vijayan Ramasamy, originally from Tamil Nadu, India, learned to cook at his mother and grandmother’s side before honing his skills through professional training and working at renowned places like the Michelin-starred Tamarind in the UK. Dhakshin—which means “south” in Sanskrit—is the realization of his dream to open his own restaurant. Here, traditional recipes are thoughtfully prepared using fresh, local ingredients. The dining space is simple and welcoming, with a private room available for groups at the back.
