About Lucky Hotels and Restaurants
When the Moghul Empire opened its doors to India, it brought with it the enchanting flavors of Moghlai cuisine. This is where the story of Biryani—a fragrant, saffron-colored rice dish cooked with tender meats—truly began. The word "Biryani" comes from the Persian term "Biryan," which means fried, hinting at the traditional pressure-frying method used in its preparation. Lucky’s is located at a bustling intersection in suburban Bandra, Mumbai—once known as the corner of three lamps. Since opening its doors on Friday, September 9th, 1938, Lucky’s Biryani has become a beloved name in many homes. Founded by Sayed Ali Akbarul Huseini, the restaurant is now lovingly managed by his sons and grandchildren, who continue to uphold the family’s rich culinary traditions. Making Biryani is truly an art. It requires special skills, patience, and attention to detail—those little touches that make all the difference in flavor and quality. What sets Lucky’s apart, however, is not just the exceptional food but also the warm, personalized care the Huseini family offers every guest. Their commitment to maintaining consistently high standards throughout the year is what keeps customers coming back again and again.
