About Melanoma Institute Australia
MIA has its roots in the Sydney Melanoma Unit, which was established in the early 1960s by Dr. Gerald Milton at Sydney Hospital. In 1982, the Unit moved to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, right next to The University of Sydney. Thanks to the generous support of Greg Poche in 2008, the Unit grew into the Melanoma Institute Australia, and the Poche Centre was built to further its mission.
