About Mother's Dumplings
Zhen, originally from Shenyang, is both the owner and the chef behind Mother's Dumplings. After a short trip back to China, she came back to Toronto and opened the restaurant in June 2005. The café has eight cozy tables, each seating between two and six people, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. If you catch Zhen looking a bit tired some days, it’s because she puts her heart into making dumplings just as delicious as her mother’s. Rick, on the other hand, is a retired high school teacher who specialized in math, physics, and computer studies. When Zhen opened the restaurant, he stayed in China for four months teaching English as a second language.
