Welcome to Nando’s India’s official page! We’re excited to now be serving you in Delhi, Bangalore, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, and Chennai. The name Nando’s comes from Fernando Duarte, one of the chain’s founders. Back in 1987, Fernando and his friend Robert Brozin bought a restaurant called Chickenland in Rosettenville, near Johannesburg. That spot became the very first Nando’s. Their flavors were inspired by the Portuguese settlers from Mozambique who had made their home in that part of Johannesburg. That’s why some people still affectionately call us Nando’s Chickenland.
