Everyone who knows Adelaide’s dining scene is familiar with Parlamento, a beloved local institution that officially reopened its doors on April 27, 2011, after being closed for nearly three years. The North Terrace restaurant is back in the same location where it originally thrived from 1988 until 2008, when the old building had to be demolished. Although the plan was to reopen within about 18 months, construction delays pushed the reopening back, making this week’s launch a much-anticipated moment, as co-owner Raffaele Simeone explains.
