About Terra Breads

Our very first bakery and café opened back in 1993 on West 4th Avenue in Kitsilano, Vancouver. Since then, we’ve been dedicated to crafting genuine artisan bread using time-honored techniques that have been refined over thousands of years. We combine high-quality ingredients—many of them organic—with natural starters, allowing the dough to rise slowly through a careful, hands-on process. This slow fermentation brings out rich flavors and creates bread that’s not only nutritious but also has a perfect structure, with a beautiful crust and a moist, tender crumb. Throughout the day, we closely monitor the dough, feeling its progress as it adapts to the changing environment. Once the dough has risen just right, we bake it in traditional stone-hearth ovens at each of our four bakery locations. Beyond bread, we offer rustic pastries, fresh sandwiches, homemade soups, and salads, along with artisan granola and pecan fruit crisps. Even as we continue to grow, we remain committed to baking with the same slow-rise, traditional artisan methods that have always defined us.
