About The Invermere Bakery
Quality Bakery has a rich history that began in 1956 when Dutch baker Jan Van Driel first opened its doors. In 1964, Austrian baker Rudy Laresser joined the team, adding his own expertise to the mix. Then, in 1981, Peter Banga from Switzerland took over as the owner. Peter trained as a baker and pastry chef in Zurich at Baeckerei Steiner before moving to Canada. Since then, he’s been dedicated to keeping the bakery’s tradition alive in this small mountain town, constantly working to improve both the quality of the products and their availability to the community.
