About Toni&Guy
Francesco Mascolo, a renowned hairdresser, taught all his sons to cut hair from a young age. Although Toni was initially interested in academics and dreamed of a career in law, moving to London changed his path. He began working as his father's assistant in a busy salon, and soon realized how much he enjoyed hairdressing. Toni continued working alongside his father, building a strong client base at Viccari’s salon on Cox Street, Mayfair. When that salon was sold, Francesco secured a spot at the award-winning Renato’s on Dover Street, where his younger son Guy joined them to start his apprenticeship. After a brief period of unemployment—just three days, the only break he ever had—young Toni grew a moustache to look more mature and took on the role of manager at Gerard’s salon in South London at only 16. Always striving to improve, Toni later moved to Victoria Street near Westminster, where he built a high-profile clientele and worked long, demanding fourteen-hour days. His goal was to save enough to buy a house for his mother. Meanwhile, Guy returned to South London, where his skill earned him a position at the busy Clapham salon, Cecile Moss.
