About Barrow Street Ale House
15 Barrow Street offers a lively sports bar atmosphere, complete with over 20 TVs and a fantastic selection of craft beers, all set within a charming brick-front colonial building on a quiet, tree-lined street. The building itself dates back to 1897 and was constructed by Conrad Schaper, one of the neighborhood's original "truckers"—meaning he transported goods near and far using a horse-drawn carriage. Originally, 15 Barrow served as a stable and carriage house for Schaper. Despite some local myths, Aaron Burr never owned or lived at 15-17 Barrow Street. Historians confirm that his estate was actually located well away from this area.
