About Head of the Class Academic Center

At Head of the Class Academic & Counseling Center, we’re dedicated to helping students—whether they’re in kindergarten or college—reach their full potential. Our approach goes beyond just finding shortcuts; we teach students how to face challenges head-on and build the skills to overcome them. Founder Lynn Ellis puts it this way: “Modifying educational programs for students has become common, but modification alone isn’t true education. Instead of lowering standards, we focus on leveling the playing field through thoughtful adaptations and teaching strategies that truly support learning.” Every tutor on our team is a specialist in their field, holding degrees ranging from bachelor's to doctorates. We work with students who may be struggling in various subjects, using creative and effective tutoring methods to help them catch up quickly. Our philosophy is simple—failure isn’t an option. Because we focus on rapid progress, even top-performing students benefit from our enrichment and test prep courses. Research shows that students who work consistently with a tutor often score higher on standardized tests. In today’s competitive college admissions landscape, those extra points can make all the difference—opening doors to scholarships and opportunities for success.
