Jiggs Kalra, often called the "Czar of Indian Cuisine" and the "Taste Maker to the Nation," is a trailblazing food columnist, author, gastronome, and food consultant. Over nearly five decades, he has played a key role in bringing Indian cuisine to the global stage and setting high standards for it. Recently, he became the first Asian to be inducted into the International Food & Beverage Gourmet Hall of Fame, adding to his long list of national and international awards and honors. Throughout his career, Jiggs has worked to revive forgotten regional cuisines and traditional cooking methods. He introduced age-old delicacies like the Galouti kebab, once served in India’s royal kitchens, to modern diners. He’s also known for establishing some of India’s most acclaimed and successful restaurants. Beyond that, he has represented India at various international food festivals and summits, and played a major role in the culinary success of renowned hotel groups such as The Oberoi Group, ITC Hotels, The Park Group, and several international properties. Jiggs Kalra has authored over 11 books on Indian cuisine, including *PRASHAD*, which is widely regarded as a definitive guide and is often called the "bible" for today’s chefs.
