Ochre Restaurant and Catering, formerly known as Red Ochre Grill, is one of Cairns’ most celebrated dining spots. Since opening its doors in 1994 at the corner of Sheridan and Shield Street, it has become renowned for its modern Australian cuisine, crafted with both flair and creativity. The driving force behind Ochre’s success is owner and head chef Craig Squire. Passionate and hands-on, Craig is often found in the kitchen perfecting the menu, and his talent has earned him guest chef invitations at some of the world’s most prestigious five-star restaurants and hotels, from Dubai to Shanghai. Ochre prides itself on using local and native ingredients, featuring a daily selection of fresh seafood and premium Australian beef tenderloin, which was recently awarded ‘Best Beef’ at the Royal Brisbane Show.
