It all began with a chef from France. Tucked away in the heart of Surrey, the Old Surrey Restaurant has been a cornerstone of fine dining on this side of the Fraser River. Since opening its doors in 1975, the restaurant—founded by Valentine Aguirre, who hails from Spain—has been serving up fresh, inspired dishes made with local ingredients, including lamb and veal sourced directly from the family’s farm in Chilliwack.
