In 2011, Takshashila and Himanshu Desai moved back to Ahmedabad after spending 12 years abroad in Nigeria, Singapore, and the US. While the city had improved in many ways during their time away, they noticed one thing hadn’t changed much—the challenge of finding a good, affordable omelet or sandwich served with proper hygiene. Originally, they planned for Sandwichworkz to be a café focused solely on sandwiches and omelets. But once they started, they realized many popular dishes in Ahmedabad weren’t being done well. So, they expanded their menu to include a variety of options like waffles, pancakes, shakshuka, vegetarian and non-vegetarian parathas, egg dosas, kathi rolls, biryanis, and curries—offering something delicious for everyone.
