About Sepia Restaurant
Sepia Restaurant has been a standout dining destination since it opened in 2009, nestled in the prestigious Darling Park precinct at 201 Sussex Street, Sydney. The restaurant is the brainchild of two of Sydney’s culinary greats: Chef Martin Benn and George Costi, a well-known seafood wholesaler from De Costi Seafoods. Together, they’ve created a unique and inspired dining experience. Sepia’s contemporary menu highlights the best seasonal ingredients, with a distinctive nod to Japanese flavors. From Tuesday to Thursday dinner and Friday lunch, you can enjoy either a 5-course or 9-course tasting menu. On Friday evenings, as well as Saturday lunch and dinner, the restaurant offers a completely different 9-course tasting menu, which changes weekly to keep things fresh and exciting. Renowned Sydney Morning Herald critic Terry Durack beautifully sums up the cuisine as a balance of contrasting textures and flavors—smoky, sweet, crunchy, creamy, and more. He even likens it to a blend of the styles of Tetsuya Wakuda and Rene Redzepi, calling it a “Nordic kaiseki.” To complement the food, Sepia boasts an extensive wine list curated by award-winning Sommelier Rodne, ensuring every dish is perfectly paired.
