About Ryan Maguire's

Ryan Maguire’s Bar and Restaurant has been a staple in New York City’s Financial District since it opened in 1995. Owned by Mena and Tommy Maguire, who are originally from Ireland, the couple had already made their mark in the neighborhood with Ryan’s Sports Bar, which they opened nearby on Gold Street in 1992. After Ryan’s Sports Bar became a beloved spot for locals and visitors alike, they decided to expand and opened Ryan Maguire’s Bar and Restaurant on 28 Cliff Street on St. Patrick’s Day in 1995. While Ryan’s Sports Bar eventually closed when the area transitioned to residential apartments, Ryan Maguire’s Bar and Restaurant remained a popular gathering place, known for its great food, drinks, and welcoming atmosphere. Unfortunately, in the early hours of February 24, 2010, a fire completely destroyed the bar. Thankfully, no one was injured, but the loss was heartbreaking for the Maguires and their loyal customers. In the weeks that followed, Mena and Tommy were overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends and patrons. Despite the setback, they were determined to rebuild and reopen, committed to continuing the tradition they had built in the neighborhood.
