About Yuki Bakery
Yukiko Sekiya grew up in Tokyo, Japan, where she first developed her passion for pastry. She earned a diploma in European pastry from L’École de Minako Imada in Tokyo and gained hands-on experience working in local pastry shops. Eager to expand her skills, she moved to San Francisco, California, to continue her culinary journey. There, she earned a diploma from the California Culinary Academy and apprenticed at Campton Place Hotel while studying hospitality management at San Francisco State University. Yukiko also worked as a pastry assistant and pastry chef at MC2 Restaurant and Zero Cafe in San Francisco. Eventually, she and her husband Hank relocated to Montreal and opened Yuki Bakery. Committed to creating a welcoming, high-quality neighborhood bakery, Yukiko personally oversees every detail—from crafting recipes to selecting the finest ingredients and baking each batch with care.
